During: Sunroom, Mudroom and Office

*Queue the dance party. I got a pocket, got a pocket full of sunshine. Honestly, the further I get into the renovation, the more the cutie sunroom makes me want to burst out in song and dance. This space is beautiful and functional.

We ripped up the carpet during demo to find old-school red clay tile that we opted to keep. A little bit of muscle and hardcore cleaning materials should clean the red tile up nicely. Check out the room’s inspiration in my past post and the before and after demo below.

During the renovation, we designed and built cabinetry for a mini-mudroom space. The cabinetry will hide the washer and dryer and provide much-needed storage for cleaning supplies and the like. The cabinets are being built from paint-grade lumber, as we’ll paint the piece ultimately when the project is complete. Here’s the latest progress on the cabinet, as well as some inspiration I’m drawing from.

While cleaning up the floors, we also attacked the textured swirl ceiling (1970s anyone?). The swirls were not consistent with the modern, clean style I desired for the bones of the house – so I opted to have this smoothed out and re-painted for about $350.
