Theme for this space: *Que the Dixie Chicks* WIDE OPEN SPACES. Walls are coming down left and right folks. We’re opening up all the walls around the stairs until it’s pretty much only the stairwell and the Harry Potter closet beneath it left standing. I mean check out this maze that is my house.
Walls aside, the living room is pretty great. It’s spacious, there’s a large window, the wood-burning fireplace is fully functional and the built-ins are original to the house. All I’ll need to do is get rid of the curtains and funky wallpaper, give the built-ins a fresh coat of paint and voilà!
Once the stairway is opened up on both sides (as you can see, it’s currently only open on one side), we’ll give it some new black modern railings to tie into the kitchen hardware and black doors to the sunroom. Here’s what I’m thinking.
